   Annual Giving

The operation of the Wissahickon Valley Public Library has long been a public – private partnership with funding coming from several key sources.  Local real estate taxes levied by the Wissahickon School Board and state aid from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania comprise the majority of our operating funds, but they are not enough to cover all of the expenses of providing the services that you have come to expect.  Contributions to the library’s Annual Giving Campaign make it possible for the library to purchase a greater range of books and other publications that we could not otherwise obtain.

The Annual Giving Campaign works to acquire unrestricted gifts to augment the library’s collections.  All contributions to the campaign are used to buy the books and recorded items that are used by the public.

Each year since its inception, the campaign has netted more money than the prior year, a record of which we are very proud. Donation envelopes are available at the libraries in Ambler and Blue Bell and are included in the library newsletter that is mailed to all tax payers in the Wissahickon School District. We will appreciate and put to good use any amount that you would like to contribute.

The library's United Way donor option number is 025280.

   Matching Gifts

If your company has a matching gift program, you can multiply your generosity to the library.  Please contact your human resources department and ask for a matching gift form.  All you have to do is complete the form and send it to us at 650 Skippack Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422.  In some cases a spouse’s company will also match a gift or even provide a financial match for volunteer hours contributed to the library.

Special Donations

Opportunities to support library services include gifts of time and money such as:

Memorials...A gift to the library is a thoughtful way to honor the memory of a friend, neighbor, colleague, or loved one.

Birthday Book Gift. ..A book, selected with assistance from the library staff, will display a bookplate acknowledging the donor as well as the recipient. Books are appropriate for all ages and are particularly exciting for children.

Honor Book Gift...A tangible way to show your friendship and admiration for a friend, family member, or colleague.

For each of these gifts, an attractive acknowledgment will be sent to the family or honoree identifying the donor.  A book plate, in each gift book, will display the names of honoree and donor. Each contribution must be at least $25: these gifts are deductible for income tax purposes.

In addition to gift books, you are invited to discuss memorials and commemorative gifts for other library items with library staff.

If you are interested in making a special donation, please contact Anne Frank, Library Director at 215-643-1320 extension 11.
