Author Jordan Sonnenblick is visiting WVPL! You probably know him best for his books Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie or Notes From the Midnigth Driver. He's visiting to talk about his writing, his inspiration, and answer your questions about writing or his books.

Registration required (link coming June 1). Free book included with registration while supplies last. For ages 12-17.

Jordan Sonnenblick joins us as part of the Montgomery County Teen Author Tour.

Opera Goes to the Library

Opera North, Inc. and the Wissahickon Valley Public Library presents OPERA GOES TO THE LIBRARY.  A new community interactive concert performance combining music, opera and literature.  The performance will include Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Bizet’s Carmen, Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and other opera and Broadway selections.  The performers include accomplished opera singers and instrumentalists that will entertain and engage the audience through their music, conversation and invitation to perform with the concert artists.  In addition to the concert performance, books will be on display and available for loan ranging from children’s illustrated books, fun stories, biographies and history all related to music and opera for the readers’ enjoyment and educational experience.

Out of the Ordinary – Make an Unusual Pendant

Kathleen Edwards of Madcap Jewelry, instructor.

Out of the Ordinary Pendant: Take shapes and ornamentation and put them together to make your own unique pendant. Neckwire included so you can wear your creation home. You will be using superglue, so no small children please. All supplies are provided.

Class size limited to 15.

Madcap Jewelry creates earrings, bracelets and pendants and exhibits throughout the Delaware Valley area.
