Many people are familiar with the orchids commonly sold in supermarkets, big box stores, and so on, but these hybrids are derived from probably less than 50 species of wild orchid. There are somewhere around twenty five thousand known species, many of whick are never seen outside of specialist collections, and which would make most people say 'Wait, that's an orchid?" This presentation will focus on those unusual, wonderful, and often hard to see species.
