Students in grades 4 through 8 will learn to design strategies to make a robot travel through an unknown maze. This is a team race.
In preparation for that task, they will learn how to use a color sensor and a distance sensor to park the robot in a parking lot and in a busy street (parallel parking) and to do fast line followers. The students will learn sensor calibration, basic control theory using PID controller, and control tuning.
The involved mathematics is at 6th grade level, but can be learned by the 4th graders.
