WVPL is excited to announce the continuation of the renovation at the Main Library in Blue Bell!
Big things are happening at the library. After the Ambler Branch opened its doors to its new, beautiful building, we turned our attention to the needs of the Main Library in Blue Bell. The plan is to renovate the library, by replacing the old 1990's features with a modernized 21st century library. Thanks to your generous support, we’ve already taken important steps forward—replacing the roof, repaving the parking lot, upgrading outdoor lighting, and repairing the sewer system—making sure our library is safe and accessible for all. Now, we’re ready to do something even more meaningful: create an inviting interior with welcoming spaces for tutoring, studying, and community gatherings. Imagine children receiving extra help after school in bright, comfortable rooms… neighbors meeting for book clubs or lifelong learning programs… families finding a place to connect.
Many hands go into this important work, and many decisions are yet to be made. Currently, our anticipated start time for this project is October 2026. We plan to move our most needed books and materials to a temporary location in Whitpain Township, to be determined. More information on the temporary library, construction start date, and finalized renovation plans will be shared with the public as soon as possible. Keep checking back on this page for updates!

Update 8/17/2026: Main Library Closed October 1-19 for Moving & Holds Pickup Changes
The Main Library will close on October 1 to 19 2026, in order for the furniture and collection to be moved to our temporary library location (see Update 7/24/2026). We plan to open at the temporary library on October 20.
For now until we reopen, we need to suspend placing new holds for pick up at the Blue Bell location. New holds requests must be sent to the Ambler Branch or any other MCLINC library of your choice. Old holds requests that were assigned to the Blue Bell library for pick-up will still be sent to Blue Bell. When you receive a hold notification, it will specify the pick-up location. If you have a hold close to being ready, you can change the pick-up location to Ambler or any other MCLINC library.

Update 7/24/2026: Lease Agreement Signed
The director has signed a lease agreement to begin renting a large office space for our temporary library in October! We have officially locked down the space at 960C Harvest Drive, #100, Blue Bell, PA 19422 (This link will open Google Maps.) While we do not have a strict move-in date, it is a huge step forward in our planning process, especially considering the need for continuous library service to the community. Now that the space is secured, more decisions can be made and detailed updates can be published. Much more is yet to come!
