Join us for an informative and thought-provoking presentation that broadens our understanding of the Revolutionary War and honors the diverse patriots who helped lay the foundation of the United States.
Rediscovered Patriots explores the often-overlooked stories of the American Revolutionary War by highlighting the roles of Black, Native American, and Melungeon soldiers. Too often, traditional history focuses on white soldiers alone, leaving out the diverse individuals who also fought, sacrificed, and shaped the nation’s early history.
This program examines who these soldiers were, why they chose to fight, which side they served, and how they were treated during and after the war. Through historical accounts and documented examples, attendees will learn about exceptional Black, Native American, and Melungeon individuals whose contributions have long gone unrecognized.
